The great forces of the plane gather to combat one another in a contest to see who will claim the mighty prize. The immortal sun, an artifact of immense power, is hidden there. The Immortal Sun is Marit Lage confirmed. The golden city of Orazca, buried deep in the jungle, houses a great secret. She's swept all the ice away as a matter of personal preference, and she presides over this play where the vampires are the heroes who are trying to save her from the golden tower the dinosaurs (she is sad she doesn't have a real Dragon, but this will do) have imprisoned her in. Marit Lage has an entire plane pretending that she is a magical object, going so far as to extend her tentacles into the Blind Eternities to snare guests to her world. Almost like someone removed all the ice counters already. What do we know about Ixalan? There is no ice anywhere.

Even Vraska is ensnared by this mind trick, behaving like a totally normal pirate captain instead of a shadowy, vengeful gorgon assassin. As we can see from Angrath, this drives planeswalkers insane and makes them put on a show of belonging to Ixalan despite obviously not belonging there. Its reach stretches into the Blind Eternities, tying down anyone who tries to leave. What do we know about the Immortal Sun? It was stolen from vampires, all of whom participate in a stilted, theatrical religion which justifies their blood lust. Especially Dark Depths' ice counters, the symbol of random chemical compounds disabling planar threats. If there's one thing Marit Lage hates, it's ice counters. She is also an avid fan of theatre and vampires. Though she is neither planeswalker nor Eldrazi, she is capable of traveling through the Blind Eternities to other worlds. First, she takes the form of a gigantic, tentacled monster who strikes fear and insanity in the hearts of mortal man. Marit Lage is a shadowy character, but we do know some things about her. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
